Vatana Usal is a tasty Gujarati Snack good to serve to your guests along with normal tea. Best part is it can be made ready in 10 minutes. To give a good flavour use fresh peas.
* Vatana (Peas) - 2 cups
* Cooking Oil - 2 to 3 tbsp
* Cumin Seeds - 1/2 tsp
* Coconut (grated) - 1/2 cup
* Green Chillies - 2
* Coriander Leaves - hand full
* Lemon Juice - 1 tsp
* Sugar - 1 tsp
* Salt to taste
Take a Kadai(wok) and heat oil in it. Once it is hot add cumin seeds. As they start spluttering, add peas and green chillies. Mix well for 2 to 3 minutes.
Add salt and sugar and mix again till the sugar dissolves completely and dish is dry. Take off from flame and sprinkle with coconut powder and coriander leaves.
Serve hot along with evening tea.
