First soak rice for 10 minutes and pressure cook with 2 to 3 cups of water. Each grain should be separate.
Now take a heavy bottomed pan and heat desi ghee in it. Once it is hot fry cumin seeds in it. As seeds start crackling add onions, cinnamon, clove, bayleaf and green cardamom and fry for 3 to 4 minutes on medium flame. Then add chopped tomatoes, green chillies, ginger garlic paste, red chilli powder and turmeric powder. Cook for 10 to 12 minutes more and mix well.
Add pressure cooked rice and required salt to the pan. Sauté for few more minutes. Serve hot with Papad and Boondi Raita.
