Tomato Chicken is a rich tomato flavoured chicken dish. You can use Tomato Puree also to make this dish. However nothing to beat fresh tomatoes.
Recipe Ingredients
* Chicken - 1kg * Cooking Oil - 5 tbsp * Tomatoes (chopped) - 8 to 10 * Onion (chopped) - 1 * Ginger Garlic Paste - 2tbsp * Garam Masala - 1 tsp * Green Chillies - 2 * Red Chilli Powder - 1 tsp * Ground Cloves - 1/2 tsp * Coriander Leaves - hand full * Black Pepper - 1/2 tsp * Salt to taste
Preparation
First clean and cut chicken to 1" pieces. Heat oil in Kadai(Wok) and once it is hot sauté onion and ginger garlic paste for 2 to 3 minutes.
Add chopped tomatoes and cook for few more minutes. Keep stirring frequently. Then add salt, green chillies, red chilli powder and cook for 2 minutes.
Add chicken pieces in the pan and cook till the chicken pieces are tender. Put in all the other ingredients and cook for few minutes more. Add water to make the gravy light as desired or let it remain as it is if you like a thick gravy.
Serve hot and enjoy with plain rice or chapatis after garnishing with coriander leaves.
