Tamarind Chutney

Tamarind Chutney with it's natural sour taste is ideal with Pakoras, Idlis and Dosa snacks. Recipe for chutney is also simple and can be made ready in 20 - 25 minutes.



Chutney Ingredients:

* Tamarind - 1/2 bowl

* Cumin powder - 1/2 tsp

* Red Chilli Powder - 1/2 tsp

* Jaggery - 1/2 bowl

* Dates - 1/2 bowl

* Sugar - 1/4 bowl

* Salt - 1 tsp

Preparation

Put Tamarind, Jaggery, Sugar, dates and 1 cup water in a pan and boil for 10 minutes. Then mix salt, cumin powder, chilli powder for 2 to 3 minutes on medium flame. Let the mixture cool down to normal temperature.

Take out the pulp from the tamarind and blend the mix in a food processor till a smooth paste is formed. Add water as per requirement of paste smoothness.
