Sooji Halwa

Sooji Halwa dessert is a pious food. It is considered as prasad from God and offered religiously to devotees at Gurudwara and Navratri festival in India.



Try yourself this halwa recipe and make it ready in 15 minutes flat.

Recipe Ingredients

* Sooji (semolina)- 1 cup

* Desi Ghee - 1/2 cup

* Fine Sugar - 1 cup

* Almonds (cut to pieces) - 8

* Raisins - 10

* Cashew nuts - 8 (half parts)

* Water - 2 cups

Preparation

In a medium size bowl heat desi ghee on slow flame. Then add almonds, raisins and cashew nuts. Saute them for few minutes.

Then add suji and roast it on slow flame. Keep moving all items and after 8 to 10 minutes suji will turn slight brown and will start oozing rich and lovely aroma. At that moment add sugar and mix properly. Immediately add water.

Increase the flame and move the ingredients in the pan regularly. When the water has dried our your halwa is ready.
