Shrikhand

A sweet and chilled Indian dessert, Shrikhand is more popular in western India. Now a days it is readily available in market like Ice cream. However you can make it at your home using below recipe.



Recipe Ingredients

* Yogurt - 1 1/2 kg

* Castor Sugar - 3 cups

* Saffron Strands (Kesar) - A pinch

* Essence (Kewda) - 1 tbsp

* Cardamom(small) Powder - 6

* Almonds (Cut to pieces)- 15

* Mango Pulp (optional)



Preparation

Put yogurt in a muslin cloth and hung for 2 hours. Then in a bowl mix yogurt with sugar. Add kesar and essence and beat till a thick creamy paste is made.

Add almonds and put the bowl in the refrigerator to chill for 2 to 3 hours.

Garnish with few more almonds and serve chilled. If you like mango flavour then add mango pulp along with sugar and then beat it.
