Shahi Paneer

Shahi Paneer is one dish which is popular in India since Mughal period. This Paneer recipe is a must during marriage ceremonies and other parties. Enjoy it with a topping of butter.



Recipe Ingredients

* Paneer Pieces (2" thick)- 250g
* Ghee - To Fry
* Onion (chopped) - 1
* Tomatoes (chopped) - 2
* Ginger Garlic Paste - 1 tbsp
* Cashewnuts (grinded) - 6
* Garam Masala - 1/2 tsp
* Red Chilli Powder - 1/2 tsp
* Turmeric Powder - 1/2 tsp
* Coriander Powder - 1 tsp
* Coriander Leaves (chopped) - Half hand full
* Butter - As required
* Salt to taste

Recipe Ingredients

Take a pan and shallow fry the paneer. Ensure to take them out from frying before paneer pieces turn brown. Keep them aside.

In the same pan fry onion till little brown. Then add ginger garlic paste, tomatoes and keep frying for 5 to 6 minutes more. Then add 1 cup water and add all other ingredients (except paneer).

Once the gravy starts boiling add paneer pieces and cook for 5 to 10 minutes more. Serve hot and garnish with coriander leaves and top with butter.

The dish is more tasty if the gravy is little thick.
