Ragda Patties - This tasty snack is very popular in Mumbai and on most of the snack corners this delicacy is available. However, you can make it yourself by using the below recipe.
Ragda Ingredients
* Green Peas - 150g
* Vegetable Oil - 2 tsp
* Onion (finely chopped) - 1
* Tomatoes (chopped) - 2
* Coriander Powder - 1 tsp
* Garam Masala - 2 tsp
* Ginger Garlic Paste - 1 tsp
* Cumin Seeds - 1/2 tsp
* Red Chilli Powder -1/2 tsp
* Cumin Powder - 1/2 tsp
* Coriander (chopped) - hand full
* Cilantro - 1 cup
* Salt to taste
Patties Ingredients
* Potatoes (boiled, peeled & mashed) - 250g
* Bread - 4
* Red Chilli Powder - 1 tsp
* Amchur - 1 tsp
* Salt to taste
Preparation
First soak the peas overnight. Take a blender and mix together onions, tomatoes, cilantro and ginger garlic paste to make a fine paste.
Take a cooker and heat oil in it. Once oil is hot add cumin seeds and ready paste and sauté for 5 minutes.
Add all the spice powders and cook for 3 to 4 minutes and then add soaked peas. Add water (3 cups) and cover the cooker with the lid. Let it cook till 4 whistles. Remove from gas and keep aside.
Mix potatoes with all patties ingredients and mix well and make fine balls. Press between palms to make patties.
Now heat oil in a pan and shallow fry the patties and serve hot after garnishing with chopped onions.
