Wash and soak rice in water for 15 minutes. Drain and keep aside.
First remove the heads and shells of the prawns. Boil the prawns in 3 cups of water for 20 minutes. Strain to extract 3 cups of stock.
Devein the prawns, apply a little salt and keep aside.
Take a pan and heat desi ghee in it. Once it is hot sauté the onions till lightly browned. Add the whole spices, sauté for a minute or so. Add ginger garlic paste, sauté for a minute. Add tomato, green chillies and turmeric powder. Stir fry till tomato is pulpy. Add prawns and stir fry for 2 minutes till they change colour. Add rice and stir fry for 2 minutes.
