Prawn Pulao

Prawn Pulao Easy and tasty Prawn Dish very popular in western part of Indian - Goa and Konkan. Make it yourself in 30 minutes.



Recipe Ingredients

* Prawns (whole, unshelled & washed) - 1/2 kg
* Basmati Rice - 1/2 kg
* Desi Ghee (clarified butter) - 4 tbsp
* Onions (finely sliced) - 2
* Tomato (chopped) - 1
* Cloves - 4
* Cinnamon sticks (1") - 2
* Green Cardamom - 3
* Ginger Garlic Paste - 2 tsp
* Turmeric Powder - 1/4 tsp
* Green Chillies (chopped) - 2
* Coconut Milk - 1 cup
* Sugar - 1/2 tsp
* Salt - 2 tsp



Preparation

Wash and soak rice in water for 15 minutes. Drain and keep aside.

First remove the heads and shells of the prawns. Boil the prawns in 3 cups of water for 20 minutes. Strain to extract 3 cups of stock.

Devein the prawns, apply a little salt and keep aside.

Take a pan and heat desi ghee in it. Once it is hot sauté the onions till lightly browned. Add the whole spices, sauté for a minute or so. Add ginger garlic paste, sauté for a minute. Add tomato, green chillies and turmeric powder. Stir fry till tomato is pulpy. Add prawns and stir fry for 2 minutes till they change colour. Add rice and stir fry for 2 minutes.
