Prawn Curry

Prawn Curry is more popular in Konkan and Goa. Use freshwater prawns to make the dish more tastier.



Recipe Ingredients :

Prawns – 12 to 14
Cooking Oil – 3 tbsp
Ginger Garlic Paste – 1 tbsp
Green Chillies – 2
Red Chilli Powder – 1 tsp
Turmeric Powder – 1 tsp
Coriander Powder – 1 tsp
Garam Masala – 1 / 2 tsp
Yoghurt – 2 tbsp
Cumin Powder – 1 /2 tsp
Coconut (grated) – 3 to 4 tbsp
Tomato Puree – 3 tbsp
Curry Leaves – 5 to 6
Coriander Leaves – For Garnishing
Salt to taste
Water – 1 cup



Preparation :

Take a wok and (Kadai) and heat oil in it. Once it is hot add all the ingredients except prawns, coconut milk, yoghurt and tomato puree. Stir fry for 3 to 4 minutes.

Add yoghurt and tomato puree. Mix properly and cook for 5 minutes more. Then add prawns and stir for few minutes. Add water and cook till the prawns are soft and curry has thickened a bit. Add coconut milk and garam masala.

Take off from heat and serve hot after garnishing with coriander leaves.
