Posto Bora

Posto Bora - Poppy Seed(khus Khus) Patties. A traditional Bengali Snack easy to make in 15 to 20 minutes.



Recipe Ingredients

* Poppy Seeds (khuskhus) - 300g

* Cooking Oil - 1/2 cup

* Potatoes, boiled, mashed - 100g

* Gram Flour (Besan) - 1/4 cup

* Green Chillies - 2 tbsp

* Onions (chopped) 2 tbsp

* Salt to taste



Preparation

First soak the poppy seeds in double the quantity of water for 2 hours and keep aside. After 2 hours grind the seeds to a paste.

In a bowl mix the potatoes with gram flour, green chillies and onions. Add the seasoning and poppy seed paste. Mix all the ingredients together and make equal size balls. Flatten the balls to make patties and keep aside.

Take a kadai(wok) and heat oil in it. Once it is hot shallow fry the patties till they turn golden brown.

Serve hot along with tamarind chutney.
