Peda

The king of all Indian sweets, Peda is very popular in whole of India. Made using a simple khoya recipe, it can be cooked in 2 to 3 hours.



You cannot ignore this mithai amongst all Indian sweets recipes.

Recipe Ingredients

* Milk - 2 Litres

* Sugar (powder form) - 300g

* Almonds (cut to pieces) - 7

* Pistas (cut to pieces) - 7

* Cardamom Powder - 1 tsp

* Saffron Strands - A pinch



Preparation

First make khoya by taking a mid size pan and boiling milk till it reduces to half it's original quantity. Dissolve saffron strands in 1 tbsp of milk and mix it in boiled milk.

Then add sugar and essence and boil till a semi-solid khoya is formed. Keep stirring frequently so that it doesn't sticks to the bottom. If required lower the flame.

Once this sweetened khoya is formed, take it off from the flame and let it cool down. It will take approx 15 minutes. Then with your hand make each peda individually.

Put pistas/almonds pieces on top and enjoy the taste.
