Patia Chicken - Parsi spicy Chicken Recipe made with thick tomato gravy.
Recipe Ingredients
* Chicken (pieces) - 1/2 kg
* Onions (chopped) - 6
* Sesame Seed Oil - 3 tbsp
* Lemon Juice - 1
* Salt to taste
Grind with a little vinegar the following:
* Garlic - 6 cloves
* Cumin Seeds - 2 tsp
* Dry Red Chillies - 6
* Vinegar - 1 tbsp
* Tomatoes (made into puree) - 4
* Salt to taste
* Sugar to taste
Preparation
First marinate the chicken pieces with salt and lemon juice and keep aside for 1 hour.
Take a pan and heat sesame seed oil in it, once it is hot sauté the onions till they turn brown. Add the ground paste and mix well. Add the chicken pieces and simmer till they turn tender.
Add vinegar, salt, sugar and tomato puree. Mix well and cook for 5 minutes more.
Serve hot with steamed rice.
