Parippu Curry

Parippu Curry - Kerala Curry made with Moong Dal and curry leaves. It's very common curry dish of kerala and can be made ready in 25 minutes.



Recipe Ingredients

* Moong Dal - 1 cup

* Coconut Oil or Desi Ghee - 3 tsp

* Coconut (grated)- 1/2 cup

* Cumin Seeds - 1/2 tsp

* Mustard Seeds - 1/4 tsp

* Onion (chopped) - 1

* Green Chillies (chopped) - 1

* Turmeric Powder - 1/4 tsp

* Red Chilli (whole) - 2

* Curry Leaves - 4 to 5

* Salt to taste

* Water - 1/2 ltr



Preparation

First grind together green chillies, turmeric powder, coconut and cumin seeds. Keep aside.

Roast Moong Dal in a pan and keep aside. Take a kadai(wok) and boil water in it. As it start boiling add roasted moong dal, turmeric powder and salt to it. Cook till the dal is half done.

In a separate kadai saute onion and curry leaves in coconut oil till onions turn little brown.Add these two and remaining ingredients to the kadai and simmer on medium heat till fully done.

Serve hot after garnishing with red chillies and desi ghee.
