Paratha or Indian Flat Bread is a very common dish of Indians. It is prepared twice or thrice a week in most of the Indian homes.
In parts of north India like Punjab, Haryana etc. it is prepared as main dish of breakfast. Stuffed varieties with Aloo and Onion are also very popular.
Recipe Ingredients
* Wheat Flour - 3 cups
* Separate Wheat Flour - 1/2 cup
* Butter - 3 tablespoons
* Salt to taste
* Ghee or Oil - 1 to 2 tbsp
* Water - 1/2 cup or as per requirement
Preparation
First step is to make dough. Take flour in a plateand mix salt to it. Melt the butter and knead the flour using water. Keep kneading and mixing till a soft dough is ready.
From dough prepare dough small balls. Roll it on Chakala and smear it with separate flour and very little oil. Make a round or "D" shaped flat spread.
Put this flat dough spread on tawa (or griddle) on medium flame. Apply oil on one side surface and then on the other side. Let this remain on gas till it turns brown and pink.
Serve hot with pickle or chutney along with any dish to cherish.
