Pani Puri

Pani Puris - An Indian Snack loved by all. There is an impression that it is difficult to make but we assure you that it can be made easily at home to serve to your guests.

Recipe Ingredients

* Puffed Puris - As required
* Sprouted Green Gram (mung) - 1/2 cup

* Potatoes (boiled, peeled & mashed) - 2
* Black Pepper - 1/2 tsp

* Tamarind - 4 oz
* Coriander Leaves - One small bunch

* Jaggery to taste
* Red Chilli Powder - 1 tsp

* Cumin Seeds (roasted ground) - 1/2 tsp
* Water - 2 pints

* Salt to taste

Preparation

Puffed Puris - Now a days these are readily available in market. However if you can't lay your hands on it then make on your own by making a wheat dough or suji dough. Making small and flat puris and cooking each in hot oil.

First boil the tamarind in the water till it is soft. Strain thru a muslin cloth and keep aside.

Add the ground spices, salt and chopped coriander leaves. If the mixture is too thick, dilute with a little water.

Make a small top hole in each puri and stuff with some mung sprouts or boiled potatoes. Seerve the puri and pani separately so that each guest can serve himself by dipping the puri into the pani. Chutneys can also be served with puris as per choice.
