Naan Bread - A smooth and heavy Tandoori Roti with good quantity of butter on top. Mostly enjoyed with Dal Makhani and Kadai Paneer.
Recipe Ingredients
* Maida (Refined Flour) - 3 cups
* Oil - 1/2 cup
* Sesame Seeds - 2 tbsp
* Sugar - a pinch
* Yogurt - 1/2 cup
* Milk - 1/2 cup
* Baking Powder - 1/2 cup
* Butter - 2 tbsp
* Salt to taste
Preparation
Sieve the Maida with the Baking Powder. Add butter, oil, yogurt, salt and sugar and mix well.
Add milk and water a little at a time to form a very smooth dough. Cover with wet cloth and set aside for at least two hours. Divide into equal size dough balls.
Roll the dough balls in sesame seeds, apply some flour and roll out into a thick round disc. Place it in a preheated tandoor or oven(350 deg F) on a greased tray. Cook or Bake till golden brown on both sides.
Serve hot topped with butter.
