Mysore Pak

A soft and tasty dessert, Mysore Pak as the name indicates is a karnatak dessert. The dish can be easily made in 20 minutes and best part is you can store it for later days also.

Recipe Ingredients

* Besan (Bengal Gram Flour) - 1 cup

* Sugar - 2 cups

* Desi Ghee (clarified butter) - 1/2 cup

* Oil - 1/2 cup

* Water - 1/2 cup

Preparation

Take besan in a pan and pour some oil (4 to 5 tbsp) on to it. Mix flour and oil properly. Ensure mixing is good and no lump is formed. Keep it aside.

Now use two wok (kadai's) - one to heat the oil and second to make the dish.

First heat the oil and ghee in one kadai and side by side in the bigger kadai, make one string sugar syrup by mixing sugar and water. Once the sugar is dissolved completely and froth starts coming, add flour to it and mix properly. Keep stirring frequently ensuring the dish does not sticks to the bottom of the vessel.

Then pour oil from the first kadai in the mixture using a bigger spoon. Keep stirring at the same time. Take proper care to keep adding oil into the mixture and frequently moving the mixture.

Once dish starts showing change of colour from very light brown to golden or slight brown then take it off immediately from the flame and pour it in a deep plate. Do not touch it and let the dessert cool down.

After 10 to 15 minutes cut it to pieces and serve.
