Moong Dal Halwa

Mostly made during marriage parties, Moong Dal Halwa is a delicious dessert which can be made easily at home within 30 minutes.



Make this dessert by using our simple halwa recipe.

Moong Halwa Recipe Ingredients

* Moong Dal (Split Green Gram) - 100g

* Desi Ghee - 2 tbsp

* Sugar - 5 tbsp

* Khoya - 100g

* Cashew Nuts (broken) - A few

* Cardamom (small) - 3

* Pistas (cut to pieces)- 7

* Water - 100ml


Preparation

First clean and wash moong dal and soak it in water for half an hour. Then drain out the excess water and grind it to form a smooth paste.

Take a pan and heat desi ghee in it. Pour dal paste and cook till it turns light golden in colour.

Now make sugar syrup by boiling sugar with water in separate pan. Boil till sugar dissolves completely. Add this sugar syrup to fried dal paste.

Cook the paste on medium flame till it turns thick. Add cardamom powder and mix properly.

Garnish with dry fruits and serve hot.
