Milagu Rasam

Milagu Rasam - South Indian Style Rasam made with Black Pepper and Cumin Seeds.



Recipe Ingredients

* Black Peppercorns (sabut kali mirch), powdered - 1 tsp

* Desi Ghee (clarified Butter) - 1 tsp

* Cumin Seeds, powdered - 1/2 tsp

* Tamarind (Imli), lemon size - 1

* Curry Leaves - 4 to 5

* Mustard Seeds - 1/2 tsp

* Salt to taste

* Water - As Required



Preparation

First boil 4 cups of water with tamarind, curry leaves and salt till the smell of raw tamarind disappears.

Add the black pepper and powdered cumin. Mix well.

Add water, if needed, to increase quantity and boil for a few more minutes.

Heat the ghee in a pan. Add mustard seeds, and as seeds starts sputtering, remove and add to the tamarind mixture.

Serve hot as a soup or with steamed rice.
