Meen Peera

Meen Peera - Kerala style fish preparation with more coconut than fish. This dish can be kept overnight and enjoyed next day.



Recipe Ingredients

* Fresh Sardines - 250g

* Coconut Oil - 2 tbsp

* Small Onions (crushed) - 5 Nos

* Ginger (crushed) - 1/2 inch

* Garlic (crushed) - 3 Nos

* Grated Coconut - 1/2 cup

* Green chillies (chopped) - 3 Nos

* Curry Leaves - 5 to 6

* Kokum - 2 Nos

* Water - 1 cup

* Salt to taste



Preparation

First crush the coconut a little. Add onions, ginger, green chillies, kokum, salt and water to form a mixture.

Take a kadai (wok) and heat coconut oil in it. Once it is hot add above made mixture and curry leaves.

Put the kadai on fire and bring to boil, gently lay the cut up the pieces of fish on the surface and cover.

Cook over the medium flame till most of the water evaporates. Serve hot.
