Meen Curry

Meen Curry - The most popular and favourite dish of malayalees. Any festival or function in the family, this dish will be definitely made.



Recipe Ingredients

* Fish (Seer pieces) - 300g

* Coconut Oil - 4 tbsp

* Onions (small and chopped) - 8

* Ginger Garlic Paste - 1 tsp

* Red Chilli Powder (soaked in water) - 3 tsp

* Green chillies (slit) - 4 to 5

* Kokum - 2 Nos

* Curry Leaves - A few

* Salt to taste

* Water - 1/2 cup


Preparation

Take a kadai(wok) and heat oil in it. Once it is hot, fry soaked red chilli powder. Add curry leaves, onions, ginger garlic paste, green chillies and sauté for few minutes.

Pour water, stir and add kokum and bring to a boil. You can use vinegar also in place of kokum.

Place the fish pieces gently into the gravy and twirl the pan to get the pieces covered with the gravy. You can add cut tomatoes and cover and cook till the oil separates.

Serve hot.
