Mangsho Ghugni

Mangsho Ghugni - Bengali Dish of Lamb pieces cooked with Chickpeas. Preparing is easy as it involves normal cooking.

Recipe Ingredients

* Lamb (boneless Leg pieces) - 200g
* Chick Peas - 100g
* Cooking Oil - 5 tbsp
* Onions (chopped) - 1

* Ginger Garlic Paste - 1 tsp
* Tomatoes (chopped) - 1
* Turmeric Powder - 1/2 tsp

* Coriander Powder - 1/2 tsp
* Cumin Seed Powder - 1/2 tsp
* Red Chilli Powder - 1/2 tsp

* Coriander Leaves - hand full
* Salt to taste
* Water - 1 1/2 cup


First soak the chick peas in water overnight. Next morning boil till they turn soft.

Take a kadai(wok) and heat oil in it. Once it is hot add onions and sauté till they turn little brown. Add ginger garlic paste, tomato and lamb pieces. Sauté and mix well.

Add all the dry spices and water, cook till the lamb is done. Then add chick peas along with water in which they were boiled. Let the mixture come to a boil. Remove from the flame and serve hot after garnishing with coriander leaves.
