Makhani Dal

Makhani Dal (or Makhni Dal) is a Punjabi delicacy, very popular in whole of India. This special dish is enjoyed most with Makai Ki Roti, Naan or even Paratha.



Recipe Ingredients

* Urad Dal (sabut)- 250g
* Rajma - 100g
* Clove - 4 to 5
* Desi Ghee - 2 table spoon
* Onion (finely chopped)- 2 Big one's
* Tomato Puree - 4
* Onion Garlic Paste - 2 tsp
* Tej Patta Leaves - 4 to 5
* Cardamom (Big) - 2
* Cumin Seeds - 1/2 tsp
* Dry Coriander Powder - 1 tsp
* Red Chilli Powder - 1 tsp
* Garam Masala - 1 tsp
* Cream - 50g
* Butter - 25g
* Salt to taste



Preparation

Soak Urad Dal and Rajma overnight then boil these two along with Tej Patta, Cardamom and Cloves in a cooker.

Take ghee in a pan and add cumin seeds and onion and fry it till onion turns golden pink. Add tomato puree, onion garlic paste, coriander powder, chilli powder, garam masala and salt to the pan. Fry it for 10 minutes. Add boiled Dal and rajma to it. Stir the mixture.

Finally add Butter and Cream and keep stirring the Dal frequently for about 30 minutes on medium flame. Dal is ready to Serve.
