Kozhi Curry - A traditional Kerala Chicken Curry recipe cooked in coconut oil. Enjoy this simple dish with cooked rice.
* Chicken (cut to pieces) - 250g
* Coconut Milk - 1/2 cup (thick)
* Red Chilli Powder - 1 tsp
* Coriander Powder - 2 tsp
* Pepper Powder (roasted) - 1/2 tsp
* Onions (sliced) - 2
* Ginger Garlic Paste - 1 tbsp
* Mustard Seeds - 1 tsp
* Coconut Oil - 1/4 cup
* Curry Leaves - 4 to 5
* Salt to taste
First heat oil in a pan and fry mustard seeds in it.
As the seeds start spluttering add onions and ginger garlic paste. Sauté till onions turn little brown. Add coriander powder, red chilli powder, pepper, salt and fry till the oil separates.
Stir in the chicken pieces, stir to coat and cook a few minutes. Cover and cook till the meat is tender. Pour the coconut milk, simmer for 5 minutes more and remove from flame.
