Kerala Fry - A traditional kerala fish recipe made by fish in coconut or any other refined oil. First make and apply the marinade on fish and then fry in refined oil.
* Fish - 1/2 kg
* Cooking Oil - For deep frying
* Turmeric Powder - 1 tsp
* Red Chilli Powder - 3 tsp
* Black Pepper (crushed) - 6 to 7
* Ginger (crushed) - 1 tsp
* Vinegar - 1 tsp
* Salt to taste
First clean and wash the fish properly. Cut the fish into equal size pieces. Make little gash (cuts) on both the sides of the fish pieces.
Now make a marinade by mixing powder of pepper, crushed ginger with turmeric powder, red chilli powder, salt and vinegar. If required you can add one or two tea spoon of water to make a smooth paste.
Apply this marinade on both the sides of the fish as a fine layer. Keep aside the pieces for 1 hour.
After 1 hour, heat oil in a kadai(wok) and deep fry the fish pieces till they turn golden brown. Keep aside to serve after draining out excess oil.
