Kalakand

Kalakand or Milk Cake is a simple and tasty mithai to make. This easy dessert recipe requires few ingredients and once made this sweet can be enjoyed for weeks.

Recipe Ingredients

* Milk - 2 litres

* Sugar - 1/2 cup

* Pista (chopped)- 8

* Almonds (chopped)- 8

* Silver Foil - Few layers

* Citric Acid - 1/2 tsp


Preparation

First make chenna using 1 litre of milk. Take this much quantity of milk in the bowl and boil it. Once it starts boiling add citric acid. Separate the whey and milk solid by putting in a damp muslin cloth. Squeeze out the whey and your chenna is ready.

In a separate medium size Pan, boil left over 1 litre of milk till it reduces to half its quantity. Then add the chenna and boil till it thickens.

Add sugar and stir continuously till sugar is dissolved fully and mithai is thick and soft. Sprinkle chopped almonds and pistas or apply silver foil gently.

Cut to pieces once cooled down.
