Jeera Rice

Jeera Rice - One of the easiest rice recipe. You can serve this with raita, curry, any veg manchurian or with any non-vegetarian dishes like chicken tikka masala. It's tastes is such that it goes well any other Indian dish.

Recipe Ingredients

* Basmati Rice - 200g

* Desi Ghee (clarified butter) - 2 tbsp

* Cumin Seeds (Jeera) - 2 tsp

* Onions (chopped) - 2

* Lemon Juice - 2 to 3 drops

* Cashew Nuts (cut) - 10

* Bay Leaves - 2

* Cinnamon Sticks (1/2") - 2

* Cloves - 4

* Peppercorns - 2

* Salt to taste



Preparation

First wash and soak basmati rice for 30 minutes. Drain and keep aside.

Take a heavy bottomed pan and heat desi ghee in it. Once it is hot sauté cashew nuts till they turn golden brown. Keep them aside once they are done.

In the same pan add cumin seeds, bayleaf, cinnamon sticks, cloves, peppercorns and chopped onions. Sauté and mix well for few minutes. Now add rice, water, lemon juice and salt. Mix well. Cover the pan with a lid and cook till the rice is fully done.

Serve hot along with Veg Manchurian.
