Jeera Aloo - A very simple and common dish. This can be made ready in 15 minutes and can be enjoyed with roti and green salad.
Recipe Ingredients
* Potatoes - 4
* Cooking Oil - 2 tbsp
* Cumin Seeds - 1 tsp
* Green Chillies (chopped) - 2
* Garam Masala - 1/2 tsp
* Red Chilli Powder - 1/2 tsp
* Turmeric Powder - 1/2 tsp
* Hing (Asafoetida) - A Pinch
* Ginger Garlic Paste - 1 tsp
* Curry Leaves - 6 to 7
* Salt to taste
Preparation
First boil the potatoes in a pressure cooker until 2 whistles. Let them cool down a bit then peel off the skin and cut to medium size pieces.
Take a kadai(wok) and heat oil in it. Once it is hot add cumin seeds. As seeds start crackling, add green chillies and ginger garlic paste. Sauté for a minute or so then add curry leaves. Mix well.
Add potato pieces, salt, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, garam masala and hing. Mix well all the ingredients and cook for two to three minutes more and take off from the flame and serve.
