Gosht Vindaloo - Parsi Vindaloo recipe made with lamb gosht.
Recipe Ingredients
* Lamb (cut into small cubes) - 1/2 kg
* Cooking Oil - 6 tbsp
* Potatoes (peeled & cut) - 4
* Onions (chopped) - 2
* Tomatoes (chopped) - 1
* Green Peas (boiled) - 200g
Grind to a paste with 2 tbsp Vinegar
* Ginger garlic paste - 1 tsp
* Cloves - 3
* Green Cardamoms - 5
* Black peppercorns - 5
* Cinnamon (1/2" stick) - 1
* Turmeric Powder - 1/2 tsp
* Cumin Seeds - 1/2 tsp
* Dry Red chillies - 6
* Salt to taste
Preparation
First marinate the lamb pieces with the ground spice paste and salt. Keep aside for 2 hours.
Take a kadai(wok) and heat oil in it. Once it is hot, fry the lamb for 10 minutes. Add 5 to 6 cups of water and bring the mixture to the boil. Stir occasionally. Cook for about 50 minutes or till the lamb is almost done.
Now add the potatoes, onions and tomatoes. Cook till the lamb and potatoes are cooked. Finally, add the green peas, mix well and serve.
