Fish Curry is a curry dish very common in most parts of India. Whether it's Goa, Kerala, Andhra or Bengal each region has it's own recipe.
Use a Fresh Fish for curry like Pompfret etc.
The below recipe is for a Bengali style curry fish.
Curry Fish Recipe Ingredients
* Fish Fillets - 5
* Oil (Mustard) - To Fry as per Requirement
* Onion (chopped) - 2
* Ginger Garlic Paste - 1 tbsp
* Turmeric Powder - 1 tsp
* Coriander Powder - 1 tbsp
* Red Chilli Powder - 1 tbsp
* Mustard Seeds - 1 tsp
* Onion Seeds - 1 tsp
* Green Chillies - 2
* Red Chillies - 3
* Lemon Juice - 2 tbsp
* Salt to taste
Preparation
Take fish fillets, wash with water, cut and marinate with 1/4 tsp of Turmeric Powder,1/4 tsp of Red Chilli Powder, Salt, Lemon Juice and Keep aside.
Take oil in a medium sized pan and shallow fry marinated fish from all sides till slightly brown. Keep aside the fish after frying.
Heat the remaining oil in the same pan and add Red Chillies, Mustard Seeds and Onion Seeds. Once Seeds starts crackling add ginger garlic paste, onion and fry for few minutes.
After that add, coriander powder, turmeric powder, red chilli powder and keep frying till oil starts separating.
Put water(quantity depends on how thick curry you wants) and salt in the above mixture. Once water starts boiling add little fried fish (with green chilies)and cook the dish on medium flame till fish is cooked properly.
Garnish the dish with coriander leaves.
