Egg Roll

Egg Roll - A tasty starter snack dish made with hard boiled eggs and bread slices. Enjoy these rolls with chutney and masala tea.



Recipe Ingredients

* Bread Slices (crusts removed) - 4
* Oil - To fry
* Desi Ghee (clarified butter) - 2 tbsp
* Egg (hard boiled & chopped finely) - 1
* Onion (chopped finely) - 1/2
* Gram Dal (boiled in salted water till tender) - 50g
* Tomato (chopped finely) - 1/2
* Gram Flour - 1/2 cup
* Green Chillies (chopped finely) - 2
* Chilli Powder - 1/2 tsp
* Baking Powder to taste
* Salt to taste



Preparation

Take a pan and heat oil in it. Once it is hot saute the onions slightly. Add the tomatoes, chillies, dal, eggs and seasoning. Stir till well blended.

Flatten each bread slice with a rolling pin, place 1 1/2 tablespoon of the prepared filing at one end and roll up. Brush the rolls with desi ghee and keep aside.

Prepare a thick batter by combining the gram flour, salt and baking powder together and mixing well. Heat oil in a pan, dip each prepared roll in the gram flour till goldenmbrown in colour.

Serve piping hot with ketchup or coriander chutney.
