Dum Aloo

Dum Aloo is one of the most popular north Indian Aloo recipe. In most of the functions like parties, marriage ceremonies etc. this recipe is a must. Make yourself this dish made simple in our below recipe.



Recipe Ingredients

* Aloo (Potatoes) - 1 kg
* Oil or Ghee - for Frying
* Onion (chopped) - 2
* Curd - 1 cup
* Tomato Puree - 2 tbsp
* Cardamom (small) - 4
* Cardamom (Big) - 1
* Garam Masala - 1 tsp
* Cloves - 4
* Bay Leaves - 3
* Ginger Garlic Paste - 1 tbsp
* Red Chillies - 2
* Cumin Seeds - 1 tsp
* Coriander Seeds - 1 tsp
* Turmeric Powder - 1 tsp
* Salt to taste
* Water - 1 cup



Preparation

Peel off the Potato skin, prick potatoes all over with a fork and soak in water along with salt for 1 hour.

Dry the potatoes and deep fry in ghee until golden brown.

Take ghee (1 tbsp) in a pan and saute onions till all gets little brown. Add cardamoms, cloves, bay leaves to it and then add cumin seeds, coriander seeds, ginger garlic paste, turmeric powder, red chillies and keep stirring till all gets mixed properly.

Then add tomato puree, curd, salt and form a smooth paste. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes more and add aloo along with water. Keep cooking on medium flame for 5 more minutes. Add garam masala and garnish with Coriander Leaves before serving.
