Dal Channa

Dal Channa is enjoyed most with rice and butter tandoori rotis. Since dal is little heavy it is mostly eaten during winters.



Dal Recipe Ingredients

* Chana Dal - 1 cup
* Cooking Oil - 2 tbsp
* Onion (chopped) - 1
* Tomatoes (chopped) - 2
* Ginger Garlic Paste - 1 tsp
* Cumin Seeds - 1/2 tsp
* Mustard Seeds - 1/4 tsp
* Fenugreek Seeds - 1/4 tsp
* Coriander Seeds - 1/2 tsp
* Turmeric Powder - 1/2 tsp
* Red Chilli Powder - 1 tsp
* Green Chillies (chopped) - 2
* Garam Masala - 1 tsp
* Salt to taste



Preparation

In a bowl wash Dal and soak in water for 2 to 3 hours. Then boil in 2 to 3 cups of water until done.

Take a pan and heat oil in it. Fry chopped onions along with cumin seeds, fenugreek seeds and coriander seeds. Once seeds starts sputtering add ginger garlic paste, tomatoes, green chillies, red chilli powder, salt and fry these for few minutes.

Pour this spices mixture to the dal and cook on medium flame. Add water as required. Put little salt, garam masala and cook for 2 to 3 more minutes and dal is ready to serve.

Garnish with Coriander Leaves.
