Cumin Seeds


Cumin Seeds are an essential ingredient in Indian Recipes. It acts as a good source of iron that strengthens immunity. Cumin powder can also be used to cure dyspeptic headaches, nausea, morning sickness, flatulence and many other stomach disorders. It relieves pain and cramping in the abdomen.

Its antiseptic properties cure sore throat and common cold. It is also widely used in ayurvedic medicine to improve liver function and boost metabolism. Water boiled with its seeds is good for controlling dysentery. It is a very good source of iron and manganese and is known to help digestion and bloating.

In Indian Recipes all tadkas are incomplete without usage of this spice.

When applied topically it is said to be a good ointment for boils. Make a black cumin paste by grinding seeds with water and apply to the affected area.
