Cardamom

Cardamom (choti elaichi) is an aromatic spice commonly used in Indian curries, gravies and desserts. It has a sharp and stimulating flavour. Sprinkle some on your coffee and it’s sure to act as a great aphrodisiac.

It helps counter acidity, generates appetite, aids nausea, and cure halitosis or bad breath. Its fragrant seed also contains certain oils that help to stimulate digestion and relieve flatulence.

Chewing whole of this spice helps in coping with diabetes. Most of Indian desserts and sweets use this spice for garnishing. In cold winters mixing its seeds with hot milk brings relief from cough and cold. In a journey keeping one or two elaichi in the mouth brings instant relief from nausea.
