Bread Upma - Bread cooked with onion and tomatoes. This dish can be prepared in 10 minutes to eat as light snack.
Recipe Ingredients
* Bread - 10 slices
* Refined Oil - 2 tsp
* Mustard Seeds - 1/4 tsp
* Cumin Seeds - 1/2 tsp
* Onions (peeled & chopped) - 2
* Tomatoes (chopped) - 2
* Green Chillies (chopped) - 2
* Red Chilli Powder - 1/2 tsp
* Turmeric Powder - 1/4 tsp
* Salt to taste
Preparation
First break the bread into small pieces. If it is refrigerated old bread and slightly hard, soak it in water for 30 seconds.
Take a kadai(wok) and heat oil in it. Once it is hot, sauté the mustard seeds and cumin seeds till the seeds start spluttering. Add the onions and cook till it turns little brown. Add tomatoes, green chillies, turmeric powder, red chilli powder and salt. Mix well.
Cook for 2 minutes. Add the bread and stir for a further 2 to 3 minutes.
Serve hot along with Coriander chutney.
