Bhapa Doi - A Tasty Bengali unsweetened dessert made with steamed yogurt.
Recipe Ingredients
* Yogurt - 1kg
* Milk (condensed)- 1 cup
* Pistas (chopped) - 10
* Almonds (chopped) - 10
* Cashew Nuts (chopped)- 15
* Raisins - 10
* Green Cardamom Seeds - 1/2 tsp
Preparation
Take a muslin cloth and put entire yogurt in it. Close the ends and squeeze out the excess water. You can put weight also on top of the closed muslin cloth to ooze out the maximum amount of water.
In a bowl mix drained yogurt, milk and raisins. Cover the bowl with a lid. Take a pressure cooker and add 2 cups of water in it. Then put bowl with yogurt mix in it. Close the lid of cooker and cook till two whistles.
Remove from flame and let the steam ooze out slowly and it cools down. Add pistas, cashew nuts, cardamom seeds and almonds and serve chilled cold after refrigeration.
