Basundi

A Maharashtrian & Gujarati Sweet Dish, Basundi is popular in western part of India. Prepared by boiling milk on medium flame to make it thick and then adding sugar to sweeten it.



Recipe Ingredients

* Milk - 1 Litre

* Sugar - 1/2 cup

* Cardamom (small) powder - 1 tsp

* Pistas (cut to pieces) - 10

* Almonds (cut to pieces) - 10

* Saffron Strands - A Pinch



Preparation

Boil milk on medium heat till it reduces to half its quantity. keep stirring so that milk doesn't stick to the vessel bottom.

Add sugar and stir so that sugar dissolves completely. Then put cardamom powder and saffron strands into it. Cook for few more minutes so that a thick paste or rabdi is formed.

Garnish with Almonds and Pistas. Serve hot or chilled as per your choice.
