Arthritis Remedy

Arthritis Remedy - One new contender for soothing stiff, sore and creaky knees is ginger. People feel better after they took a ginger extract for six weeks. Ginger contains a complex mix of compounds that researchers suggest helps thwart inflammation in the joints.

A number of nutrient and non-nutrient factions in food can either acts as antioxidants (which helps to quench free radicals) or acts as substrates to favour production of anti-inflammatory substances. The anti-oxidants nutrients include Vitamin C, Vitamin E, carotenoid, selenium, Zinc and good quality fats. It is advised by nutritionists arthritis diet should maximize intake of these nutrients as part of food rather than supplements.

Non-nutrient compounds like flavonoids are found to be beneficial for arthritis. Flavonoids are concentrated on the outer covering of most vegetables and fruits.

Fibres from methi seeds and flax seeds which are rich in lignans, good quality fats and foods like banana, onions and wheat can help create a detoxifying environment.

Increase intake of n-3 fatty acids (like fish oil) through diet. These fatty acids favour the synthesis of those substances which are anti-inflammatory in nature and helps in arthritis care.
