Arisi Upma - This Upma is made with Rice, Urad Dal and Toor Dal Paste. Make and serve this dish in the morning as light breakfast.
Recipe Ingredients
* Broken Rice - 1 1/2 cups
* Refined Oil - As required
* Coconut Oil - to flavour
* Toor dal - 1 tbsp
* Chana Dal - 1 tbsp
* Grated Coconut - 1/2 cup
* Green Chillies - 3
* Salt to taste
Preparation
First sieve the broken rice to remove the flour.
Soak toor dal and chana dal for 10 minutes and grind to a paste.
Heat a little oil in a kadai(wok) and light fry the seasonings and green chillies. Pour 3 cups of water and add grated coconut, ground dal paste and mix well. Cook for 20 minutes, stirring frequently (if required add a little hot water).
Cook the Upma on low flame till it is done. Garnish with curry leaves, urad dal and mustard seeds. Serve hot.
