Aloo Posto - A easy and tasty Bengali dish made of potatoes and Poppy Seeds. In fact it is served as a snack also along with evening tea.
Recipe Ingredients
* Potatoes (diced) - 250g
* Poppy Seeds (khuskhus) - 50g
* Mustard Oil - 2 tbsp
* Turmeric Powder - 1 tsp
* Green Chillies (chopped) - 2
* Salt - 2 tsp
* Water - 2 cups
Preparation
First boil the poppy seeds in double the quantity of water. As they are boiled take out and let them cool down. Then grind them to a paste and keep aside.
Take a kadai(wok) and heat mustard oil in it. Once it is hot sauté the potatoes in it for 5 minutes. Then add poppy seed paste, turmeric powder, salt and water. Cook till the potatoes are done.
Add green chillies and serve along with coriander chutney.
