Aloo Paneer

Aloo Paneer - Indian sabzi with a combination of fried potatoes and home made paneer(cottage cheese).



Recipe Ingredients

* Potatoes (peeled and cut to pieces)- 4
* Paneer (cubes) - 150g
* Onions (finely cut) - 1
* Garlic (cloves) - 2
* Tomatoes (chopped) - 2
* Cooking Oil - For Frying
* Cumin Seeds - 1/2 tsp
* Turmeric Powder - 1/2 tsp
* Coriander Powder - 1 tsp
* Red Chilli Powder - 1/2 tsp
* Green Chillies (cut) - 2
* Garam Masala - 1/2 tsp
* Hing (Asafoetida) - A Pinch
* Salt to taste


Preparation

First take a kadai(wok) and deep fry the potatoes in it till they turn golden brown. Keep aside.

Similarly fry the Paneer cubes in oil till they are brown. Keep aside.

In a separate Kadai(wok) heat oil (3 tbsp) in it. Once it is hot add cumin seeds. As seeds starts crackling add onions and garlic. Fry till they turn little brown. Then add chopped tomatoes. Mix Well for 5 minutes on medium flame.

Add all other spices, salt, green chillies and fry for 3 to 4 minutes. Then add fried paneer and potato pieces. Cook for a minute or so then add 2 cups of water. Cover the kadai with a lid and cook on medium flame for 10 minutes more. During this time the sabzi will become thick.

Take it off from the flame and garnish with coriander leaves.
